- It all started from a desire to share. In this case… good books, wonderful stories. I was leafing through the pages of a book in a library when a little girl at the farther end of the aisle spoke to her friend in her high little-girl voice, “Look, look, such a pretty book. With pictures too.” They were both sitting on the floor and they had this big picture book between them, their hands eagerly pointed at one picture after another. The smaller girl said, “What is it about?” And her friend shook her head, “It’s in English. If only we understood English….” I knew then and there that I wanted to translate books. Fictions. Story books. Eventhough along the way I did some translations of nonfictions as well, fictions have always been my biggest passion.
